In today's episode of "Mie Draws Things She Really Can't Draw" we can see how bad she is at shading things. Her drawings look worse and worse, especially when she attempts to shade objects she's bad at drawing in the first place. Here we have lots of examples, like faces, hands, clothes (wool, leather and other fabric) and hair. The only thing she thinks turned out well was the feather. She should have left it at the flats. Especially since she tried to finish this late at night and really wanted to get over and done with it. She also was too much of a moron to bring any kind of reference with her. Did she mention that the face looks really bad?
This, ladies and gents, is the result of a stupid artist.
It's not as bad as you think, Mie. I think you've improved a lot with your humanoids, and it's very fun to see you draw your elf characters! And hey, if you think you're so bad at drawing humanoids and shading and such, the only way to get better is to practice, right? So please draw more of your elf characters like this
With faces, I think the best way to learn is to sit down with a lot of paper, and experiment, try things out, and sketchsketchsketch without being afraid of failing. And maybe you should try to shade more with bigger brushes?
You think so? Really? O.o Well, thank you! Maybe I should draw them more often. You can only get better.
You think people would want to see them? xD
I tried that now, and I think I'm improving. At least it's getting easier to place the features. I finally made use of my reference books. I still have a long way to go, though.
You know what's strange? When I'm not sure how to shade something, I use a small, small brush and try to detail it. I have no idea why But thanks for your comment!
Oh, I know something, certainly, but that something is far, far, far from enough. And I study. That's the only way to know something - to get out there and learn about it. Knowledge don't just fall out from the sky (though it would be nice if it did), you have to go and search for it yourself.
Well, thank you! I'm glad you like him xP And thanks for the fave too.

Well, I know I would.
Glad to hear it worked out for you! Just keep practicing and have fun
Whatever works for you! I have strange 'things' like that too
Heh, thanks. I need lots of practice
But it all ends up wrong, so I shouldn't really do it xD

Well well... *Looks hopefully at the sky*

You won't find anythin' there, lassie.
Well, still thanks!
